Desde que Nikita Mazepin fichó por el equipo americano Haas para la F1 se ha producido cada día una polémica nueva, cuando fichó que solo correría por el poder económico de su familia, luego las declaraciones del mismo y un par de cosas más que a nadie le gusto, sin embargo una polémica más a surgido y esto no es algo que le envuelve nada más a el sino que a su país entero.
Debido a que en 2015 salió una polémica sobre el estado de dopaje de deportistas rusos, la FIA ha decidido este año “excluir” de alguna manera a Rusia del deporte motor.
Esta “exclusión” incluye en que los pilotos no podrán correr con licencia rusa por los próximos dos años, además de que no podrán portar ni una bandera que represente a Rusia e incluso no se podrá escuchar el himno del país si es que Mazepin gana algún Gran Premio o antes del GP Ruso.
Aún con todas estas prohibiciones el GP de Sochi en Rusia no se cancela, este es uno de los eventos que más dinero aporta a Liberty Media, por lo que se realizará siempre y cuando no haya ni una bandera del país ni se escuche su himno nacional.
Para terminar cabe decir que esta sanción durará hasta 2023, por lo que ni un piloto ruso podrá portar su bandera hasta ese año y se aplicará no solo en Fórmula 1, sino que también en WRC, WRX, WEC, Fórmula E y mundial de Karting, sin embargo parece ser que Fórmula 2 y 3 se salvan por el momento, con el la joven promesa del equipo Ferrari, Robert Shwartzman que es uno de los favoritos para triunfar en la F2 este año y ascender a F1 el siguiente pero que a diferencia de Mazepin para ser que este podrá portar su bander y escuchar su himno este año.
